17th Annual Missouri Community Forestry Council Conference

Registration for the 17th Annual Missouri Community Forestry Conference has begun! This year's conference will be held on March 16-18, 2010 at the Chesterfield Doubletree Hotel in Chesterfield, MO. Over 14 ISA and SAF CEU's can be earned at this event. Full registration for the three day event is available for as low as $160. (Daily registration is available for $110.) On-line registration (payable with a credit card) is available at www.mocommunitytrees.org. Conference information, registration forms, and an agenda are attached and are also available on-line. There is also a student scholarship application form on-line as well as information about commercial exhibits. Exhibit booths (indoor and outdoor) are an inexpensive way to promote your firm to a ready made audience. A reception with exhibitors is planned for Tuesday evening and is included with your conference registration.

We're excited about this year's conference for many reasons. Where else will you find ISA CEU's for less than $11 per credit? And the conference is in St. Louis metro which means no hotel or travel for most of you. This year's theme is "Integrating Trees in to Municipal Infrastructure". The speaker line-up will be fantastic. One of the most popular speakers on the planet (really!), Dr. John Ball from South Dakota State University, headlines the event (we had overflow chairs in the hallway last time he was here!) We'll also have updates on EAB and Thousand Canker Disease along with presentations from architects, engineers, public works officials, and of course arborists! We'll hear new ideas about how to prepare and plant trees on the right sites, and how to manage them sustainably once they are there. A tour ends the three day event with stops and information planned for the popular City Garden, Arch Grounds, the new I-64 landscaping, and Chesterfield's parkways.
